When to use this

  • You know the standard retailer selling price and margin, and need the support required for a proposed retailer selling price.
  • You want to calculate required SOA/support per unit first, with support percentage as a secondary check.

Formula used

  • Normal retailer invoice = standard retail price excluding tax x (1 - standard retailer margin).
  • Required retailer invoice = proposed retail price excluding tax x (1 - required retailer margin).
  • Required SOA = normal retailer invoice - required retailer invoice.
  • Total support = required SOA per unit x expected units.
